I checked Google for a few examples, which can work sometimes for this kind of thing. Unfortunately, you get lots of song lyrics, comedy shows and other stuff with this, not many useful examples.
Still, some of the ones I found:
- a guy talking about how he went to attend a debate even while knowing beforehand that it would most probably not be worth his time
- "In gaming/computer communities spreekt men ook wel van "fanboys", wanneer iemand bijvoorbeeld tegen beter weten in altijd Sega producten koopt" - people keep buying Sega products because they once liked Sega products, even when they've been disappointed several times in a row and really already have a feeling beforehand that the next one won't be any good either
- "NAVO hoopt tegen beter weten in" - the NATO hoping against hope (that's the English translation, really) that the Netherlands would maintain their military presence in Afghanistan, while knowing how unlikely that hope was
